SANTALACEAE R.Br.

Family comprised of 42 genera and about 990 species of trees, shrubs and herbs, distributed in temperate and tropical regions. In North Africa it is represented by 2 genera: Osyris, with 2 shrubby species and Thesium, consisting of annual or perennial herbaceous species than are just lignified at the base of the stems and do not exceed 0.5 m in height.
