SAPINDACEAE Juss.
Family composed of about 140 genera and about 1850 species of trees, shrubs, lianas and herbaceous plants, with an almost cosmopolitan distribution. In North Africa, it is represented by 2 species with very different distribution patterns: Acer (mainly boreal) and Dodonaea (represented mainly in tropical and subtropical areas).
