Ecbolium Kurz
Genus composed of 21 shrubby or subshrubby species, 12 of which are native to eastern and southern Africa, 7 to Madagascar and the Comoros Islands, 3 to S of the Arabian Peninsula and 3 to India, 1 of which extends its area to Malaysia. In North Africa it is represented by a single species: E. viride.
