Halimium Mill.

Genus composed of some 70 species, of which about 50 are found in North Africa. They are distributed mainly through the Mediterranean area, but some are distinctly Saharan. These are small, suffrutex plants, sometimes herbaceous. Some species have woody stems, although very slender, which sometimes reach 1 m in height and even more, such as H. syriacum and especially H. confertum.
