Iphiona Cass.

Genus composed of 9 Asian and African species, of which 2 are found in North Africa, in the deserts of the E of Egypt, including the Sinai Peninsula. These are shrubs up to 60 cm in height, with spiny leaves and capitula with flowers all in yellow disc florets.
