Rhamnus serpyllacea Greuter & Burdet

R. serpyllifolia Emb. & Maire

Arbustillo rastrero, caducifolio, generalmente dioico, no espinoso, ramas jóvenes hirtas (con pelos derechos y rígidos). Hojas perennes, alternas, pequeñas (6-15 x 3-8 mm), obovadas, enteras o con algunos dientes en la mitad superior, nervios secundarios incospícuos. Flores tetrámeras, solitarias, unisexuales. Sépalos ovados, agudos, glabros. Frutos drupáceos, pequeños (2-4 mm de diámetro), subglobosos.

Floración:

mayo-junio.

 

Fructificación:

agosto-septiembre.

Hábitat:

Matorrales y roquedos de zonas montañosas, sobre terrenos calizos, en ambiente fresco, subhúmedo y húmedo, sobre el piso supramediterráneo.

Distribución:

Es un raro endemismo marroquí de los roquedos calcáreos de media y alta montaña del Medio Atlas septentrional [Jb. Ouarirt (cerca de Taza) y Guelb-er-RahaI].

Estado de conservación:
