Balanites Delile
Genre comprenant environ 10(25) espèces, dont une seule dans le N. de l’Afrique, B. aegyptiaca, à aire de répartition saharo-tropicale. Arbres ou arbustes épineux à feuilles caduques ou semi-caducifoliés, à épines simples ou ramifiées, dérivées des bourgeons foliaires axillaires.
