Crataegus L.

Género integrado por unas 380 especies distribuidas principalmente por las zonas templadas de la región holártica. En el N de África está representado por 4 especies, en el área mediterránea. Una quinta especie [C. laevigata (Poir.) DC.] se podría encontrar como cultivada en Argelia y Libia.
