Halimium Mill.

Género integrado por unas 70 especies, de ellas unas 50 en el N de África. Se distribuyen básicamente por el área mediterránea, pero algunas son netamente saharianas. Se trata de pequeñas plantas sufruticosas, a veces herbáceas. Algunas especies tienen tallos leñosos, aunque muy delgados, que a veces alcanzan 1 m de altura e incluso más, como H. syriacum y más especialmente H. confertum.
